Default How to resolve this statistically inderminate problem

Hi Sylvian,
I am Shreeganesh Sudhindra .I am currently working on the arm curl model. It is
my aim to improvise on the existing model and come up with an exo skelton for
the same. My issue is that while the model loads it says "*Model Warning: Study
'Main.ArmStudy' contains more reaction forces than rigid-body degrees of freedom
of the segments. The model may be statically indeterminate. There are 25
reactions and only 24 rigid body degrees of freedom. " .I have tried reducing
the constraints one by one and I am still unable to figure out where I am going
wrong .I have attached my anyscript with this post.I would appreciate it if you
could throw some light onto this issue.Thank you.
Sincerely ,
Shreeganesh.S

Hi Shreeganesh,

The forum web site does not allow attaching directly a file to the posting.
There is a file section on the group where you can upload files. Please
upload you model there so we can look at it.

Best regards,

Sylvain, AnyBody Support

Default RE: [AnyScript] How to resolve this statistically inderminate problem

Hi Shreeganesh

I have made some changes in the model and uploaded it again using the name
“testfiledumbV2”

The problem was the following:

You have added 2 new segments, this adds 12 rigid body dof to the system

You then added three revolutejoints and a driver of one of them this is 16
kinematic constraints.

I have changed the should exo joint to be a spherical, the elbow to a
revolute and the palm to a cylindrical this gives in total 3+5+4=12
constraints which was needed… the driver I have removed.

When doing this kind of model it is always important to keep an eye on the
dof balance, we often recommend doing a small stick figure sketch of the
model showing the joint types etc…

Best regards
