Contact Points

I think I found a small error in the ContactPoints.any file in the standing
model. There are
left and right contact points. It seems that for the L1 segment, the left and
right are
swapped. The sacrum and other lumbar contact points appear on the correct
sides, except
for L2 which has z=0 for both the left and right.

This leads me to a question. Are there contact points for the center for all
lumbar segments?
Only the sacrum and the L2 have center contact points (unless L2 is at the
incorrect x
location).

I also need contact points for other parts of the body, such as the legs, chest,
and shoulders.
Are these built into the standing model?

Thank you,
Brent

Hi Brent

Yes it seems that you have found a typo, thanks!

It is not something that will change the model a lot, typically both
the left and right contact node are being used at the same time, so
this will just mean that the names are swapped, but thanks a lot for
lettings us know.

There are no midpoints defined by default in the BRep part of
repository, but if you look in the file
ARep/Aalborg/seatedhumanfriction/backrestsupport.any you will find
some more contact nodes, you can always create more contact nodes if
you like.

Typically the contact nodes are added to the BRep parts from the
application like the Seatedhuman model, in this way we avoid
polluting the model with all sorts of contact points. It differs a
lot from model to model which points are needed. In the file
mentioned above you can also see how to add a contact point to the
BRep without actually writing in the BRep file.

Thanks Søren,

The points in the file you referred to will be very helpful.
