I have a question on how the gravity works on a standing model. Does ist just apply in the Body Center or does it have an impact on every single part of the body?
In detail:
If a person is standing with straightened arm in front of the body, is there muscle activation in the shoulder-girdle due to the weight of forearm, hand et cetera?
Gravity applies onto each individual segment’s center of mass, not the center of mass of whole body.
There is an good example for you in the repository:
‘…\AMMR\Application\Validation\BergmannGH’
In this model human moves a dumbbell with his arm.
When you run the inverse dynamics analysis of this model then you can see some changes of muscle activation around the shoulder joint.
