Joint reaction force output

Hi ,

I have a question regarding the output of the joint reactions. As I understood is

[0] the proxiodistal force
[1] the anteriorposterior force
[2] Mediolateral force
[3] Axial moment
[4] lateral moment

is this right? I don´t remember where I read this!

How can it be if I created my thigh and shank connected by a simple revolute joint and isometric muscle contraction (no motion) that AnyBody calculates joint reaction force in [0] proximodistal and [1] anteriorposterior direction?

Kind regards

Hi Eilathan,

In any joint there is a property called
Constraints.Reaction.RefFrameOutput.M and F
this will list the reaction force in the joint in the reference frames used by the joint.
These forces and moments are in global cooridnates, but you can transform these into local coordiantes.

The output you are listing is from some selected output in the human model, it can not be generalized for any joint, so if you make a new joint it could be differrent depending on the coordinate systems being used.

Best regards
Søren
