model go down when sit down -AnyInputBVH

Hi Everybody,
I tried to put input a bvh file into anybody using AnyInputBVH (see attachment sitdown.txt, i have change the extend name from bvh to txt, just make it be able to upload). When i sit down, the model will sink (offset) and when i stand up, the model will come back to the original place. When I multiply the TranslationScale by 1.6, this phenomenon become much better. This is not understandable, because the TranslationScale is already in cm. Can anybody find a solution for this problem?
Best Regards
Jian

Hi Jian,

Sorry for the slow feedback,

We have never seem this behaviour before.

I have tested the model and your are right, introducing the 1.6 seems to reduce the drift of the feet.

I can see in the script that the bvh files has been converted from another format right?

Have you cheked that other bvh viewers did not have the same problem?

It is a posibility that the conversion could have introduced this problem into the bvh file, so please verify this is not the case.

Best regards
Søren

Dear Søren,
Thank you for your reply. First of all, this bvh file is the output from ipi soft from Kinect camera. We have checked the animation both from the ipi soft viewer and bvh hacker ( which is free and can be download at http://davedub.co.uk/bvhacker/), and it worked perfect.
It also worked OK at anybody, when it is loaded correctly (during the kinematic study, the model would not jump up from ground). However, this is very rare, like once in 50 times. We have recorded both cases and upload to youtube, where you can see how it goes wrong.

Dear Jian,

You are right, we can replicate the problem, it can be seen after multiple reloads. We will have to investigate the problem further to find a solution for it.

Thanks for making us aware of this.

Søren
