AMMR4- new abdominal model- Segment masses

Dear AnyBody team,

I would like to calculate the loads on the pelvic floor during full-body movements using the new abdominal model.

I read in another forum post that the abdominal pressure within the layers increases towards the bottom in order to simulate the properties of the abdominal interior. This is realised by defining masses in the layer segments.

Could you please explain to me specifically which segments are meant here? Does this refer to the BaseSegs or the CavitySegs?

In addition, I have created a separate model to simulate the gravitational and inertial forces of the internal organs and the pelvic organs seperatly. Therefore, I would like to know if it is possible to set the masses of the segments in the abdominal model to zero in order to calculate the abdominal pressure exclusively without the influence of the organ masses?

Thank you very much for your support!

Best regards,

Nikolas

Dear Nikolas,

The abdominal pressure increases inferiorly due to the combined mass of all four segments in the layers. The model already includes inertia objects for each segment. To achieve your purpose, you need to disable these inertia objects by setting UseInertiaObjects = Off. Afterward, you can assign zero mass to the segments.
