Hello.
Thank you for your helpful information.
I am trying to change the Length sizes of human model in of
the “StandingModel”.
I understand I should use and set 2 files of .any below,
a) One of ScalingLengthMassFat.any, ScalingLengthMass.any, or
ScalingUniform.any.
b) AnyMan.any or other member of AnyFamily folder.
Before making new size model, I checked the total body height
of “AnyMan” of the StandingModel. It runs with
ScalingLengthMassFat.any. I refer to message # 1799 as a check
method.
The result, total body height of “AnyMan” is about 167cm, when the
model is loaded or when Inverse Dynamic Analysis is done.
But “AnyMan.any” says that "body_height " is 175.9 cm.
Also I know the “body_height” parameter doesn’t set total body
height
directly. My questions are,
What length of “AnyMan” is 175.9 cm ?
When I make new size model, I should set ThighLength, ShankLength
etc. in new AnyMan.any file. However, the total of these Length
parameters is not equal to the body height, it seems. I would like
to set total body height, how can I do it ?
Between “ScalingStandard.any” model and “AnyMan.any” model, the
ratio of length of each part of body is different . I
know “ScalingStandard.any” model is based on “50th percentile
European male”. The ratio of “AnyMan.any” model from where comes ?
First of all which version of the repository are you using? The latest
version 7.1 has some additions in the scaling facility and its corresponding
tutorial on the web site ( www.anybodytech.com <http://www.anybodytech.com/>
) that will make things much easier for you. If you are not running yet
version 7.1 please consider switching to it (download available on the web
site). In all cases I invite you to read the Scaling Tutorial on our web
site.
The variable BodyHeight in AnyMan doesn’t actually controls the height of
the body. It is used in ScalingLengthMassFat to calculate the BMI that lead
to the calculation of the fat percent of the body and the strength of the
muscles. The height of the body is directly controlled by the length of the
segment. So the variable BodyHeight has to be adjusted to the height of the
body defined by the segment lengths in order to compute the strength of the
BMI.
If you want to set directly the total body height without using the
individual segment length, then such a facility is available in the version
7.1 of the repository. There is a specific AnyManUniform.any file where the
variable BodyHeight does control directly the height of the body. Please see
the tutorial for detailed explanations.
ScalingStandard represents the 50th percentile of the European
population. In the older versions of the repository the default values in
the AnyMan file are actually random values. They don’t correspond to any
particular person or percentile, that is because you are supposed to modify
those values to scale the model to you needs. As it turned out that it could
be confusing for the users, the version 7.1 now use the standard values as
default and a new facility to scale the body by selection of the percentile
has been added.
