Bike 2D Model

Hi, I have two specific question to the 2D Bike Model. Maybe you know the answer. The model doesn’t differentiate between the Force in the Patella tendon and the force in the quadrizeps tendon (because these tendons don’t exists in the model). So the forces are the same? Because I have read there is a factor between them, depending on the knee flexion.
The other question is about the lever arm of the muscle gluteus maximus, The calculated lever arm (Lmdot/joint velocity) in the anybody model give me results about 0.07mm.
In comparison with the literature there are high differents, because there the lever arm is about 0.03, depending also on the hip flexion.
Do you know why?
Best regards

Hi,
I don't think you should use the Bike2d for actual analyses. The leg model is quite crude and of course not validated. I also don't think there was a lot of effort in modeling the moment arms right. One basic problem, with least such largely simplified models is that the muscles are discretized in a bunch of branches which may of course different to the actual muscle moment arm measurement. I would recommend to use the normal leg models, best would be legTD.
Best regards,
Sebastian
