Creating virtual force plates

Hi, I am trying to learn about the interaction forces between the musculoskeletal model and an external load applied on the model. I have seen the GRF prediction tool and have found that it can be used to find the interaction forces. It would be really helpful if you could give the steps as to how to interface a backpack onto the model.

Hi Nissy,

Yea, it can be useful to simulate the interaction force using the GRF prediction tool. However, the GRF prediction tool is a specialized class template for GRF prediction. What you should consider using is the FrictionContactMuscles. These are essentially working on the same principle like GRF prediction and are easier to adapt than the GRF prediction tool. To really see how these are used, you can look into the AMMR examples such as seated human or leg press machine where the contact between the model and the seat back is simulated using this toolbox.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Dave

Thank you Sir for the reply, will look into the seated human and leg press machine example.
