Documentation for AnyBody version 2.0

Hi,

I have downloaded AnyBody version 2.0 (beta version). I was just

wondering if you have documentation for this new version.

Thank you.

Hello Kiran,

The documentation is unfortunately not finished yet. The new version
is largely backward compatible, so that stuff which worked in the old
version works pretty much the same in the new system.

Some of the old models will not run anymore because the syntax
checking is more rigorous in the new version. The changes to update
the old models are few and small and will in all cases improve the
models.

The new version has a much improved user interface, where the tree
view has two new modes. In addition to the model structure, you can
now also browse the include file structure. Finally you can call up a
tree with the entire class structure of the system, and from that
tree you can insert templates of objects into the model. So, if you
want to make a new segment, you can look up the AnySeg class in the
tree and insert an instance of the class into your model at the
position of the cursor. This means that you do not have to remember
the syntaxt of the different classes to be able to make AnyScript
models. If you try it out, I am sure you will understand the
mechanism pretty quickly.

There is a lot of new stuff under the hood. The system now has much
better facilities for definition and handling of variables, which is
leading up to the ability to handle optimization problems. This will
be available in very soon and open an entirely new class of problems
to be solved.

Finally, you will find some new facilities and bug fixes in the Model
View window. For instance, you cn now dump pictures in unlimited
resolution. If you wish to dump a bitmap in 10000 x 10000 pixels for
a gigantic poster, then you can do it.

Best regards,
John
