I just have some questions regarding EMG data and how it can be used to validate results obtained from the model. though i read the FAQ on anyscript wiki i couldn completly understand it. so here are some of my questions.
Can you please explain what you mean by EMG not being the same as muscle activation?
2): Can you please explain if activation calculated by the AnyBody system is a % of isometric MVC?
also how do i know if the muscle model i use is isometric MVC or 3-element Hill type model?
I would recommend you to refer to following paper: Lund, Morten Enemark, et al. “On validation of multibody musculoskeletal models.” Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine 226.2 (2012): 82-94.
If you find the AnyBody Tutorial chapter 'Muscle modeling -> Lesson 5: Muscle Models, then you can find the following description:
“Activity is the muscle active state in fractions of maximum voluntary contraction”
Also if you see the same chapter in the tutorial ‘Muscle modeling -> Lesson 5: Muscle models’, then you can find that there are several muscle model classes. (AnyMuscleModel, AnyMuscleModel2ELin, AnyMuscleModel3E)
Each muscle should use its own muscle model.
So what you should do is to figure out which muscle model is used in a specific muscle.
