flexion/extension at wrist joint

Hi,
I am looking into a movement of wrist; especially flexion and extension at wrist joint.

When loading “Mannequin.any” and I set WristFlexion with a positive value, the motion in the model view looks like this:

However, I found that the ISB standard suggests that flexion is a rotation with a positive angle around the axis of rotation with direction of thumb at wrist joint.
Ge Wu et al., “ISB recommendation on definitions of joint coordinate systems of various joints for the reporting of human joint motion—Part II: shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand,” Journal of Biomechanics 38 (2005)

That means, the picture above is in state of extension.

Does Anybody model use a different definition with the ISB recommendation? Or is there any other principle for wrist rotation description?

Hi,

You are right. We normaly follow the ISB standard for joint definition, so there is indeed an inconsistency between the naming of the wrist Dof and its actual orientation.

Thank you for making us aware of this, we will correct it in a future version of the repository.

Best regards, Sylvain.
