Hipimpingement; THA-Kneebend Model

Hi all,

I'm working with the THA-Kneebend model in AnyBody to study hip impingement, and one of my first steps is to define the lateral offset. I understand that lateral offset refers to the distance from the center of rotation of the femoral head to the long axis of the femur. Could someone guide me on the best way to define this within the model?

Any insights on this or examples from similar projects would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Parmida,

Welcome to the AnyScript forum!

You can find the reference node, HipJoint, in the Thigh segment. This is the center of rotation for the femoral head.

Regarding the long axis, this is a little bit less clear. If you have a way to define it, I can help you implement it. In the thigh segment, you can see several reference nodes, some of which represent bony landmarks. Typically, the long axis would be defined using some of these bony landmarks, and then it is, of course, possible to implement it in AnyBody.

Best regards,
Dave
