Is there a lower limb muscle model that can simulate ankle sprain?

Hello everyone,

I want to simulate and study the therapeutic effect of ankle rehabilitation robot. So I want to ask if there is a lower limb muscle model that can simulate ankle sprain? Or can I modify the default manikin to achieve this? What should I do if it works. I look forward to your reply.

Hi @Chen1227

We do not have ready example model that shows how to model sprain injuries.
But you are free to change both muscles, ligaments and other objects in the model to try and model the behavior of a sprain injury.

You will need to define what needs to be modelled to represent the sprain injury.
It could be that some muscles are reduced in their force capabilities or something else.

A note is that the recruitment criterium does not change just because you alter the mechanical objects.
So the effect of pain or swelling is quite hard to do.
