Joint Reaction Force

Hello,

I’m a little new to using Anybody modeling software and was curious about the Joint reaction force output values for the full body model. My area of interest is the lumbar spine and my questions are: is the articulate joint contact of the lumbar spine considered when performing an inverse dynamics analysis? How is the Joint reaction force computed by the system?
Thank you.

Victor

Hi Victor,

Short answer is that for a standard model it is not considered since the joint is a spherical joint, there are dedicated models in the AMMR which has this contact as part of the model, see FacetJointModel in the Examples/Application folder of AMMR.

Regarding the question about how the forces are calculates it will require a long description, so please refer to e.g. the tutorial “Inverse Dynamics of Muscles Systems” which is available under help.

Thank you Soren.
Understood.
