Measuring Internal Abdominal Pressure

hello
i want to measure IAP in standing model in different situation. but there isn’t a single output for IAP. please help me how can i find magnitude of IAP?

Hi,

There is actually a single output for the abdominal presure, it is a muscle acting on the abdominal volume. You can found it through this path in the chart output tree:
Main.Study.Output.Model.HumanModel.Trunk.Buckle.AbdominalPressureMuscle1.Fm

Best regards, Sylvain.

but Fm has force dimension. how can i relate it to pressure in abdomen? is there any cross section for this?

Hi,

In this case the name “Fm” is a little misleading because as you say it has a force dimension for the physiological muscles (via point or wrapping muscles). However this is an AnyGeneralMuscle which means it is some kind of general actuator that can be applied to different kinematic measures. The dimension of the output depends on the kinematic measure (force for a linear measure, moment for rotational measure,…).
In this case the general muscle is applied to the abdominal volume and Fm is outputed as a presure.

Best regards, Sylvain.
