minmax recruitment

Hi,

For muscle recruitment, why min/max type is not as easy to get converged as polynominal types for the same circumstances?

The error message is like this "
Muscle recruitment solver : maximum number of setbacks occured
"

Anybody has any idea?

Thanks.
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

I’m not 100% sure because you haven’t upload your model.

But in case when you have some joint muscles in your model, then it may happen.

For instance, if you are using GaitLowerExtremity model instead of GaitFullBody model,
then because there are some joint muscles in the upper body instead of real muscles,
so this kind of error may happen.

I hope this may help you.

Moonki

Hi Moonki,

Many thanks for your reply.

I am using gaitlowerextremity. Please could you explain a little bit about the difference between joint muscles and real muscles?

Also, why I have no problem running with polynominal recruitments, and this problem is only with minmax type?

Is there a solution for gaitlowerextremity?

Regards,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

In the GaitLowerExtremity model, because there are no muscle models inside the upper body joints, we introduced the joint muscles.
Joint muscles are in form of AnyGeneralMuscle object. And they are generating the required torques on the human joints.
If you can increase the strength of these joint muscles, then your model may work.
But I’m not sure.

Attached please find the snapshot of model tree.

If you want to get help for debugging your model, please upload your model on the debug section.
