Problem with using ShoulderArmMus3E

Hi,

I’ve built a ShoulderArm model. It works well with using the
ShoulderArm.root; however, when I want to use the
ShoulderArmMus3E.root, I’m faced with an error as follow:
‘muscle name’ : Muscle without strength : The muscle has been
stretched too much

and the inverse dynamic analysis is stopped;

Please give me the needed instructions to overcome this problem.

Thanks,

Regards,

Ali

Hi,

The file ShoulderArmMus3E.root use the 3elements muscle model
(AnyMuscleModel3E). Those muscles need to be calibrated before
performing an analysis. If you don’t run the calibration then you get
this error.
This muscle model is complex because including a lot of parameter. I
would recommend you to keep using the simple muscle model
AnyMuscleModel for the moment.

Best regards,
Sylvain, AnyBody Support.

Hello.

Just in case you would want to pursue the issue, start by reading
some of the documentation:

  1. http://www.anybodytech.com/690.0.html (Calibration Studies)
  2. http://www.anybodytech.com/684.0.html (Muscle models)
When I have used the 3E-muscle mudel and gotten the “‘muscle
name’ : Muscle without strength : The muscle has been stretched
too much” message, it has been due to “too incorrect” tendon lengths.
Finding the right calibration (for your case) may not be that easy
    (hasn’t been for me anyway).
