sign of joint reaction force

Hi,

just a small question to confirm whether i am correct:

The joint reaction force is the force from the second joint node acting on the first.

Correct?

I am always confused by the term “joint REaction” force.

Thanks, Thomaz

Hi Thomaz,

All forces and moments are acting on the second mentioned coordinate system and measured wrt to the first mentioned coordinate system in the measure.

I hope this may be helpful to you.
