Understanding kinematics analysis 2

Dear all,

I’m still trying to understand the kinematics of the example models of the AnyBody repository.

Is it possible to drive the full body without muscles? Just by defining drivers.

What if one doesn’t have GRF data?



Yes it is possible and very simple! I did it with the FreePostureMove.

The key to understanding AnyBody is to realize that kinematics and kinetics are two different things. You do not need forces to create motions. Motions are created by motion drivers in the kinematic analysis, and forces never come into the picture here. It is kinematics only.

When you perform an inverse dynamic analysis, the system computes the forces that are necessary to create the motions.
