Female model scaling

Hi,

I would like to apply female model in AnyBody based on weight and height parameter, also, I would like to change the pelvis width. I decided to use a modified AnyMan file and the lengthmassfat scaling method, to do this, I used the fat percent formula in AnyWomanExtPercentile to replace the original male fat percent formula and scaled the pelvis width with a factor obtained from the ratio of male and female's height at same percentile. I got two questions about this:

  1. Is this an appropriate way to scale a woman model without detailed measured body data? Do I need to scale the other body sections?

  2. Is there any available data for 5th and 95th female body to be used in AnyBody?

Much appreciated for any suggestions and support.

Hi Zhenkai,

Yes, without the actual measurements - this is probably the best thing you can do.
I must say I am not 100% sure if those percentile-based formulae are still acceptable for female scaling. The implementation relies on some older publications.

It is probably safer to find a more up-to-date source of measurements for the necessary sizes and specify them explicitly. For example you can find/calculate data from this source: ANTHROPOMETRY AND BIOMECHANICS

Kind regards,
Pavel
