Inverse Dynamics Analysis Computation Time

Hello everybody,

an inverse dynamics analysis of the example full body gait takes > 10 minutes on my machine. Is there a way to speed things up a little by e.g. excluding some analysis results or muscles? I’m mainly interested in ground reaction force predictions and activations of major muscles.

Thanks and best regards

Felix

Dear Felix,

There are several ways to reduce the time for inverse dynamics analysis.

  1. For simulation settings
You can play with three different variables in the ‘Input\TrialSpecificData.any’ file: FrontFrameOffset, LastFrameOffset and nStep.

  2. For modelling aspects
If you are only interested in the major muscles of lower body, then you can try to exclude the muscles in the upper body.

Best regards,
Moonki
