Abnormal Gait modeling

Hi,

I am new to AnyBody. I would like to use the software to model abnormal gait due to physical deformities. I would ideally like to use Force versus time data that I have gathered as the driving force for this study as opposed to .C3D files.

Here are my questions:
-Is it possible to use raw data as a driving force?
-If not how else could I model abnormal gait?
-How would I easily change the anatomy of the model to match the disease I would be modeling?

Thank you in advanced for your help!

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

Welcome to the AnyBody forum.

Regarding your questions:

  1. AnyBody is based on the inverse dynamics method. So it requires users to input the motion data. AnyBody does not use the force as an input.
  2. The easiest way to model the abnormal gait is to modify the joint angle data history from a normal gait C3D motion capture file. But if you can get the C3D data from the patient then it will be the best.
  3. In the AnyBody tutorial there are some chapters which explains how we can define segments, joints and muscles. I would recommend you to read the chapters.

Also you can get some information about AnyBody Modeling System on our wiki page:
