GH Warning,kneeling posture

Hello Anybody Team,
I’m having a couple issues while using the standing human model:

  1. I am getting a warning message when I try running an inverse dynamic analysis that:
GHMeasure : Close to singular position : Orientation close to Gimbal Lock, i.e., first and third axis of rotation being parallel
What can I do to get rid of it? Does it affect the results of the inverse dynamic analysis?
  2. I would like to simulate a kneeling posture, how can I constrain the knee to the ground? Im getting a muscle activity of 100% with my model which I suspect is inaccurate. I understand the default setup has the model’s feet attached to the ground.

Thank you very much.

Vic

Hi,

  1. Of course it will be nice if you can remove the gimbal lock warning completely. But even if those warnings still exist, I don’t think that it will affect the result of the inverse dynamics analysis.

  2. You may have to modify some drivers of the standing model in order to make the kneeling posture.
You may have to delete some constraints between the feet and the ground.
And you many need to add some conditional contact elements based on the artificial muscles.
The best example that you can refer to for this purpose is the ‘SeatedHuman’ example in the AMMR. In this model you will be able to figure out how to define the conditional contact elements between AnyBody human model.

I hope this may be helpful to you.

Thank you MJ.
I will give that a try!
