Spinal Muscle Forces

Can you please briefly explain how the min/max optimization algorithm
determines the muscle forces? I have been using Fm to determine my
muscle forces. Is this correct? I apologize for the broad question,
but I am having a difficulty analyzing change in CSA of muscle and how
it is related to the forces that are generated.

Thank you,

Hi Lacey

Please try out the tutorial at http://www.anybodytech.com/691.0.html and
http://www.anybodytech.com/691.0.htm

If you are using the three element muscles fm is the force in the active
part of the muscle, so it excludes the passive force in the tendon. If you
want to see the total muscle force you should look at ft instead, it is the
force in the tendon

I think the tutorial will many of your questions otherwise please write
again.

Best regards

Søren, AnyBody Support
